MacInnis said at least one of the threats were made on the social media app Yik Yak and included threatening language.

One threat indicated that the cadets would become "endangered species." Authorities were looking into the matter.

School officials said on Sunday the investigation found no threat from the posts.

An alert was sent out Sunday evening that read: "Anticipate a heavy uniformed police presence at VMI. Follow all instructions of law enforcement personnel. Report unusual activity to 911."
