California raccoons escape flooding

NBC News – Heavy rains in San Diego, California are causing major flooding. But residents aren't the only ones trying to stay dry.

Wild animals are trying to find refuge from all the wet weather and low lying flood areas.

These two raccoons got lucky - finding this spot on top of a freeway sign to stay clean of floodwaters.

The pair stayed on the sign for a little while - before building up nerve to come down.

Heavy storms have left many roads underwater. Several sinkholes and mudslides have been reported around the county.
