BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A 55-year-old Roanoke man died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 460 August 6.

Virginia State Police said it happened around 6:30 p.m. August 6 in Bedford County, more than a mile west of Rte. 680.

Troopers said a 1995 Chrysler LHS, driven by Peter Bell, was headed west on Route 460 when it ran off the right side of the road. Bell over-corrected, causing the car to come back into the westbound lanes before running off the right side again, hitting a utility pole and a tree.

Bell died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
