DICKENSON COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Clintwood woman died and several others injured during an accident on Route 83 August 6.
Virginia Statre Police said the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Rte. 83 less than a mile west of Rte. 721.

Troopers said a 2014 Buick Encore, driven by 76-year-old Garnett L. Mullins, was headed west on Route 83 when it ran off the right side of the road and onto the gravel shoulder. Mullins over-corrected and crossed back into the roadway, over the center line and hit an eastbound 2013 Subaru Impreza head on.
Mullins was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her two passengers, a 16-year-old female and a 3-year-old female, were also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the Subaru, 59-year-old Ronnie D. Mullins, was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His backseat passenger, 64-year-old Ava L. Rose, died at the scene. A second passenger, 58-year-old female, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.
Everyone involved in the crash were from Clintwood. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
