WRIC – RICHMOND — One person is recovering in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting on Richmond's southside Tuesday night.
Officers first responded to a domestic situation around 10:23 p.m. at the Warwick Place Apartments in the 1800 block of Fernbrook Drive. Two officers went inside the apartment after they heard an argument going on.

Once inside, there was an encounter with an armed person inside assaulting a female. Police then shot the armed person twice.
That person was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be okay.
A force investigation is now underway. Police say it could take days or weeks to complete.
No charges have been filed yet.
