ALLEGHANY CO. (WSLS 10) - A man is dead and another injured following a car crash off Route 18 in Alleghany Co.
According to State Police, it happened December 27 at 11:11 p.m. when a 1999 Ford Explorer traveling north crossed the center line, ran off the road and hit a tree.

The driver, William Austin Childress, 22, of Covington was hurt in the crash while the passenger, Matthew Ryan Long, 21, of Eagle Rock died at the scene. Both were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
According to State Police, charges stemming from the crash are pending.
