Dozen apartments damaged in Lynchburg fire

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) -  A dozen apartment units are damaged, but no one was hurt, after an early morning fire in Lynchburg on Tuesday.

The fire started at about 6:20 a.m. at Lakeside Plaza Apartments in the 1100 block of Lakeside Drive, according to the Lynchburg Fire Department.

All of the third floor units and several others are now unlivable due to heavy fire and smoke damage.

The Red Cross and management are working together to help those who are displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
