MIAMI, FL (WVIR) - The University of Virginia baseball team had a scare this evening after their bus crashed in Miami just after 6 p.m.

The bus was crossing US Route 1 when the driver went unconscious. UVA's coaching staff jumped into action to try and regain control of the bus.

The vehicle crashed into three parked cars and a motor scooter on the side of the road before coming to rest next to a tree.

Coaching staff assisted with performing CPR on the driver until Miami Fire-Rescue crews arrived. The driver was transported to Mercy Hospital in serious condition.

None of UVA's players or staff were injured on the bus. The Cavaliers start the first of a three game series against the University of Miami on Friday.
