What traffic looked like at 2:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 30.
ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - All lanes of Interstate 81 are open after being closed for a few hours after a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning, according to state police.
However, as of 2:55 p.m., VDOT is reporting traffic back-ups of about 14 miles.
Police say that a vehicle driving north on Interstate 81 at mile marker 139 lost control, crossed through the median and hit several other cars which were going south.
Police say a Jeep Grand Cherokee was going north when it lost control and crossed through the median and guardrail. The Jeep hit a tractor-trailer, a straight truck and two cars.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to state police.
