Canstruction is a colossal canned food sculpture contest.

Six teams used more than 16,000 cans of food to create their own piece in 12 hours.

This is the third year of the event benefitting Feeding America Southwest Virginia.

Cindy Peterson with the museum said, "There are 16,281 cans here in all of the six sculptures but we want to hit over 20,000 cans donated so they can come out anytime and bring one can or multiple cans to vote for people's choice up until the November 20th deadline.

Teams from Virginia Tech Roanoke County and Roanoke City Schools were all involved.
