MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. – Fire and emergency services continue to evolve every year. In Montgomery County, Supervisor Derek Kitts is looking to stay ahead of the curve and continue the growth of the county’s fire and EMS services through two studies to evaluate the needs of the county.

He tells 10 News that over the past year he has been visiting different fire and emergency departments to talk to them about the state of the departments, their current needs, and where they are headed.

Kitts also said that with the consistent growth countywide, a study like this can help them stay ahead as they grow, instead of falling behind.

Tonight on 10 News, hear from Kitts and local fire and EMS leaders about how the industry has changed over the past decade and how this study can help the future of emergency responses in Montgomery County.
