Carilion Children's patients get special treat this Thanksgiving

Carilion President, CEO teams up with Hollins University President

ROANOKE, Va. – Carilion Children's Hospital patients got a special treat this Thanksgiving with a one-of-a-kind book reading.

Hollins University shared a new book, "Four Fur Feet" from alumna Margaret Wise Brown's collection.

Carilion President and CEO Nancy Agee and Hollins President Pareena Lawrence teamed up to give the first ever reading of "Four Fur Feet."

They also shared other classics from Brown's collection to the kids.

“It's especially heartwarming to see the children in the hospital during the holiday season, and to try to give them a little bit of joy. It was just a treat and a pleasure to be able to read to them,” Agee said.

For the next year, each child born at Carilion will also take home a copy of the book.
