Hokies Offense Continues to Roll

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -

For the second week in a row the Hokies offense was dominant here at home solid in All Phases of the game they scored 54 points in tally more than 450 total offensive yards.

"I think the week of practice that we had and you know the energy and the trust that we all had an in each other as a team and your family and you know it was great", said wide receiver Cam Phillips. Along with a touchdown Saturday, he also had his first career sack and blocked punt.

"The game plan was just to be fast tempo just like we go in every week", said quarterback Jerod Evans.

"The game plan it that way doesn't change mean we add new wrinkles here and there but the game plan doesn't change for what we're trying to accomplish in a game."

Quarterback Jerod Evans got it done in the air and on the ground he connected with Isaiah Ford for 417 yards and a TD. In the second half he shredded ECU's defense with a spectacular 55 yard TD run. It's clear that the Hokies are getting comfortable and have found a rhythm offensively.

"I think our guys are starting to learn how we want them to prepare", said Fuente.

"That doesn't guarantee that we'll jump out on everybody like that but I do think we have a good mindset heading into the game with the plan we're going to tell your players they can make adjustments if we need to but I see our team continue to understand what we're shooting for so just what we're looking for how we want to play I want to prepare and I hope they're seeing the success they're having when they're doing it to do it."

The Hokies hope that this rhythm that they have found is long lasting as they continue ACC play in two weeks against UNC.
