Panthers rally for 21-18 comeback win

  Ferrum College's wrestling team, ranked #11 in the nation, posted a 21-18 comeback win over #3 Stevens Institute of Technology tonight at Roanoke Catholic High School. The Panthers had to overcome a 14-0 deficit after dropping the opening three matches.

THE BASICS
Carlos Leyva broke an 18-18 deadlock with his 4-0 win in the 285-lb weight class to lift Ferrum to the win. The Panthers won six of 10 weight classes in tonight's dual meet, which featured five top-10 ranked individuals. A highlight to the match was Ferrum's Andrew Tolbert's upsetting #5 Thomas Poklikuha 9-5 at 165 pounds, and Zach Shaffer's 8-7 tiebreak overtime win at 184 pounds. Blake Rosenbaum picked up a 25-10 technical fall at 174 pounds, while Hunter Goulart earned a 13-5 major decision at 197 pounds.
