Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Tea ceremonies take place at Washington and Lee University for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Students will serve traditional Japanese sweets and tea.  There are three seatings at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Learn more today about Salem's oldest tiny house.  A Roanoke College Professor will talk about the home at the corner of Thompson Memorial Blvd. and Clay Street, its restoration and plans for the future.  It was built in the mid-1800s and has long been in disrepair, but has recently been transformed.

The second annual CARE Rockbridge MLK Community Parade takes place today.  The theme for the parade is "We March for Love."  More than 700 people marched in last year's parade.  Last year's parade was held on the Saturday before the holiday.  Today's parade begins at 10 a.m.  It begins at Randolph Street united Methodist Church.

The Belmont Neighborhood Association in Roanoke holds its quarterly meeting today.  Speakers will address homeless services in the city and ways the community can help.  

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine holds MLK Day of Service.  Volunteers will work with Renovation Alliance and Family Promise to renovate a rental home that will give a low-income family an affordable place to live.
