During his career, Snowden exhibited unrivaled leadership ability which led to him being named a captain and top defensive player for the Cavaliers. He ends his college career having played in 42 games with 10 sacks and 2 sacks.

It was a short hiatus without the Commonwealth Cup for Virginia Tech. After getting beat by Virginia for the first time in 15 years last season in Charlottesville, the Hokies reclaimed bragging rights on Saturday, earning a 33-15 win over the Cavaliers at Lane Stadium. Khalil Herbert rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries for Virginia Tech (5-6), which outscored Virginia in the second quarter, 24-0, to take a 27-7 halftime lead. Mike Harley had a career night for the Hurricanes, catching 10 passes for 170 yards. Brennan Armstrong was back in the lineup after missing a game with a concussion for Virginia and completed 15 of 29 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. But it wasn’t enough for the Cavaliers to avoid a fourth consecutive loss, while Miami moved to 5-1 and 4-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

CLEMSON, SC – The Virginia Cavaliers trail top-ranked Clemson 24-10 at halftime. UVA quarterback Brennan Armstrong is 8-of-19 for 129 yards and the lone touchdown to Terrell Jana. The Tigers Trevor Lawrence has made 15 completions for 167 yards and 2 touchdown passes, both to Amari Rodgers. Despite struggling for much of the first half, the Cavaliers 4 play, 65 yard drive that took only 38 seconds before halftime, has boosted confidence in a team that hopes to come out in the second half and compete.

It’s only the third time since Tech joined the ACC in 2004 that the Hokies have racked up 300+ yards on the ground in an ACC game. Virginia Tech Center Brock Hoffman was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Hokies win over NC State. Hoffman helped pave the way for RB Khalil Herbert, who racked up 104 rushing yards on Saturday night. The game was Hoffman’s first since competing at Coastal Carolina in 2018 before transferring to Virginia Tech. He led a UVA effort that limited Duke to just 56 rushing yards.

ROANOKE, Va. – Coach Jamie Harless continues to churn out Division One talent from Lord Botetourt’s football program. The most recent commit being star running back and linebacker Hunter Rice, who has verbally committed to play for Army. In 2019 Rice rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 16 touchdowns in juts 8 games of action. Rice becomes the 5th Lord Botetourt prospect in the class of 2021 to commit to a D-1 FBS or FCS program. You’ll recall the trio of Cavaliers that committed to Appalachian State-- Colston Powers, Kyle Arnholt and Troy Everett.
