Roanoke County school bringing students together, when theyโre forced apart
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ Bringing students together when theyโre forced to be apart. Thatโs the goal of a new project at a Roanoke County elementary school. There was a lot of excitement at Green Valley Elementary School, as students spun a giant wheel to get sorted into houses of dreamers, friendship, givers, or courage. Students will stay in the house they got until they leave Green Valley. New and transfer students will spin the wheel to get their assignments once they come to the school.
Staff member at Green Valley Elementary School tests positive for COVID-19
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ Green Valley Elementary Schools announced that a staff member tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. School officials said they gave been working with the health department and determined that no other students or staff were exposed to this case. Staff was told they do not need to take any further action and the notice was out of courtesy, according to the announcement.
Employee at Green Valley Elementary left school before testing positive for COVID-19, district says
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ A staff member at Green Valley Elementary School in Roanoke County tested positive for COVID-19, school leaders announced Wednesday. In a letter sent to families, school leaders said students were not exposed to this positive case because the staff member who tested positive was only on school premises before students returned on Monday. School leaders said theyโre working with the Roanoke-Alleghany Health Department for guidance. They also told 10 News theyโre deep cleaning schools every week. Parents are asked to continue monitoring their childโs health for COVID-19 symptoms and confidentially report any positive cases to the school.
