KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Alabama coach Nick Saban said junior wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is out for the rest of the season after breaking his right ankle on the opening kickoff Saturday against Tennessee. “It’s a shame because the guy’s a great player,” Saban told CBS at halftime. Waddle has been one of the nation's top punt returners the past two years and has seldom had the ball kicked his way this year. Waddle currently leads all Crimson Tide returners averaging 19.3 yards per punt return in his career, nearly six years better than second place. Waddle opened this season with at least 120 yards receiving in each of the first four games and led Alabama with 557 yards on just 25 catches.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Authorities were searching Thursday morning for a tiger in East Tennessee. A deputy spotted the animal Wednesday night at an industrial park, the Knox County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on social media. Several agencies including animal control, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and representatives with the rescue organization Tiger Haven are helping with the search, the statement said. There were unconfirmed tiger sightings reported overnight in the eastern part of the county, and the search was continuing Thursday morning, dispatchers told news outlets. Knoxville Zoo spokeswoman Tina Rolen said all of its tigers are accounted for, and the zoo has not been involved in the search.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – An 18-year-old man faces multiple charges after a deadly stabbing in Pigeon Forge, according to WBIR. The Knoxville, Tennessee, NBC affiliate reports that Gabriel Enrique Turcios, of Sevierville, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault after the Wednesday night stabbing outside of the Sunliner Diner on Parkway. Police received a call about the stabbing at about 8:40 p.m. after a woman was talking with a man, who attacked her. Savannah Burford was taken to a nearby hospital, then flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where she passed away from her injuries, according to WATE.
