Kyle is moving toward the east-northeast near 17 mph (28 km/h). A continued east-northeastward motion with an increase in forward speed is expected for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Kyle is forecast to become post-tropical by late Sunday or early Monday.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – A Campbell County woman is dead after a weekend of gun violence in Baltimore. “I still can’t comprehend it,” said Darrell Francis Jr. when asked about his reaction to learning that his cousin, 35-year-old Shana Lloyd, was shot and killed in Baltimore on Saturday. According to Baltimore police, Lloyd and a man were found at about 2 a.m. Saturday after being shot. “I cried,” said 16-year-old Kyle Lloyd. “She was a wonderful mother, wonderful friend, wonderful aunt, wonderful granddaughter,” said Klein.

Mike Dunleavy has cut $444 million from the $8.3-billion state operating budget that took effect July 1. But the budget cuts have thrown Alaska into turmoil. Alaskas state university system is reeling from a 41% budget cut, which prompted Moodys Wednesday to downgrade its credit rating. That raised hopes that the two sides would negotiate to reduce the oil payout slightly and undo some of the cuts.
