The residents of a mobile home and a camper were displaced following a fire in Salem, Salem Fire-EMS said.

Fire crews responded to two fires in Salem Saturday, according to Salem Fire-EMS.

SALEM, Va. – Two people escaped a fire at 415 Stonewall Circle in Salem on Monday, officials with the Salem Fire-EMS said. Firefighters were called to the home just before 1 p.m. and arrived within three minutes of receiving the call. Fire department officials said crews got the fire under control within 10 minutes and kept it from spreading beyond the basement area of the home. The Salem Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the fire accidental and determined it was caused by an electrical issue. The basement sustained less than $10,000 worth of smoke and water damage, firefighters said.

SALEM, Va. Drivers will not be able to access I-81 at Exit 137 due to flooding, according to Salem Fire-EMS. Authorities say flooding has closed the intersection of West Main and Wildwood. East and West travel on Main Street is limited, and drivers will not be able to access the interstate from this area. Indiana Street near the Salem Dog Park is also closed.

SALEM, Va. Flooding was not the only problem across southwest Virginia on Wednesday as a landslide closed part of a road in Salem. The 2400 block of Franklin Street was temporarily closed, according to Salem Fire-EMS. That stretch is not far from where Franklin Street meets Tyler Way and Poff Lane. Daniel Lam lives across the street from the landslide and said he was sitting on his front porch Wednesday morning when it happened. SALEM, Va. - A fire caused an estimated $30,000 worth of damage to a Burger King in Salem. Crews responded to a fire at the Burger King at 815 West Main Street on Thursday just after 4 p.m., according to Salem Fire-EMS. The first units, who arrived within just a couple minutes of receiving the call, spotted flames on the roof. They contained the fire to that area, according to Salem Fire-EMS. The building was evacuated, and no one was hurt in the fire, which was determined to be accidental.

SALEM, Va. - A firefighter has a minor injury, but otherwise, no one was hurt after a fire Thursday in Salem. Crews responded to a fire at Salem Frame Company just before 11 a.m. to find smoke throughout the building. They soon learned there were several fires in the building's dust collection system, according to Salem Fire-EMS. Salem Frame Company employees evacuated the building before the first fire unit arrived. The firefighter that has a minor injury was hurt during cleanup after the fire was extinguished.
