Phillips Ready to Take Lead Receiver Role
Blacksburg (WSLS-10 Sports)- Coming off a seventy-six catch season, where he nearly eclipsed 1000 yards--its hard to believe Cam Phillips was option three in the Hokies air attack. But with the departure of Isaiah Ford and Bucky Hodges, the spotlight--and the defense's attention will fall squarely on the senior star. "Actually I'm looking forward to that being able to move and be used in different ways according to what the team needs and what the coaches ask. Phillips is first among the active ACC leaders in both receptions and receiving yards coming into 2017. He is 905 yards short of overtaking the departing Ford as the Virginia Tech all-time receiving yards leader.
