ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. ā Roanoke County police are urging people to slow down.
āWe do see an increased number in speed complaints in neighborhoods, just more people being at home," said Sgt.
Northamās stay-at-home order went into effect in March but the number of fatal and non-fatal speed-related crashes increased compared to 2019.
According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, there has been a āsevere spikeā in speeding nationwide as a result of so many people staying at home.
The DMV campaign is also an opportunity to remind people about something that can be just as important as their speed.
