Roanokeโs Jefferson Center in need of costly repairs
Roanoke's Jefferson Center, formerly Jefferson High School turns 100 this year. For the past three decades it has been a community and arts center, but now in its second life, the facility is in need of about 6-million dollars worth of upgrades and repairs.
Jefferson Center asking community to give now, gather later
ROANOKE, Va. Give now and gather later: Thats what the Jefferson Center in Roanoke hopes youll do this summer. The art hub is asking the community for help as it launches its new campaign. Unable to hold concerts and shows right now, the center is relying on donations to continue its work supporting more than 20 nonprofits and community organizations that call the Jefferson Center home. Those donations will also help the centers local art partners like the symphony, opera and childrens theatre that are suffering right now as well.
