Big changes arrive for the weekend

More comfortable air returns Saturday

ROANOKE, Va. – Lately it has felt like we've been walking around in pea soup with how high the humidity has been. That all changes over the weekend.

A cold front coming in from the west will push through Saturday afternoon bringing with it storm chances and much more comfortable air.

First the storm chances. A few storms could be on the stronger side, especially along and east of the Blue Ridge.

Damaging wind and heavy rain will be the main threat Saturday afternoon and evening.

While it won't be a washout by any means on Saturday, keep an eye to the sky if your plans take you to the Salem Fair or Smith Mountain Lake .

While it will be hot on Sunday, things will feel quite different in the comfort department. Behind that front crossing the area Saturday afternoon, less humid air will pour in for Sunday.

The refreshing changes don't last for long though. More heat and humidity quickly surge back next week.
