ROANOKE (WSLS) - The Roanoke Rescue Mission served up Thanksgiving dinner to around 1,000 people Thursday.
Between this meal and the Drumstick Dash, it took about 400 volunteers to make the day a success for the mission.

This is the 66th year for the Thanksgiving dinner. Organizers say it started out with less than 30 people, and has gotten bigger every year.
Almost all the food for the Thanksgiving meal was donated to the mission.
