ROANOKE, Va. (WSLS 10) - It's time to get your quack on. The Rotary Club of Roanoke is hosting its 2nd Annual "Great Roanoke River Duck Race" on Saturday, May 30 on the Roanoke River.

Organizers say this event will raise money for Bradley Free Clinic, Girl Scouts, Center in the Square, Blue Ridge Literacy, Blue Ridge Land Conservancy and the Rotary Scholarship Fund.

Last year after getting all of their "ducks in a row", organizers said the 10,000 ducks performed swimmingly down the river as the crowds cheered their special duck on to victory.

This free family event had hundreds of children and adults excited to see their duck race down the river.

Family activities will include: making pottery with The Pottery Guild, inflatables, face painting with the Girl Scouts, martial arts with Universal Kempo Karate School, Twirlers, Play It Again Sports, and music from "Easy Pickens Band". This year officials are adding a Petting Zoo!

The festival will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ducks launch at 1:00 p.m. from the first low water bridge on Wiley Dr., Duck Tickets are $2.

Prizes Winning Ducks: $500 -1st Place, $250 – 2nd & 3rd Place, $100 – 4th – 13th Place.
