HENRY CO. (WSLS10) - Prom is still about three months away for Henry County students, but the school system is already preparing and it needs your help.

For the second year in a row, used prom dresses and accessories, like shoes and jewelry, are being collected for girls who may not otherwise be able to afford to get dressed up for prom.

The program's coordinator is hoping to get at least 300 dresses by March 5th when girls will be able to come pick out a dress and accessories.

"We currently have about 130. We like to start the day with a really wide selection so that young ladies know that when they come in they can search for size zero to 26 and have more than one dress to choose from," said Monica Hatchett, coordinator for family and community engagement for Henry County Schools.

Items can be dropped off at the school board office in the county administration building, at Maurice's in Martinsville, or at either of the county's two high schools.
