No one hurt after fire at Roanoke elementary school

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Everyone is safe after a fire at Highland Park Elementary School on Friday morning, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

The E-911 Center received the call at about 8:27 a.m. and firefighters were on scene within three minutes.

When crews arrived, the fire was already out and the school had been evacuated.

The fire started in a recycling container and was contained to the container, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

The fire caused minimal damage and the cause is undetermined at this time.
