ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) workers brined some roads, mainly those in the higher elevations on Monday afternoon.

VDOT spokesman Jason Bond said there have been a lot of variables to the storm and that right now, the department's main concern is the temperature.

"In the next few days, the temperature will fall very low into the 20's, that means any precipitation that we do see is going to refreeze at night" explained Bond.

VDOT encourages drivers to take extra precaution, as this storm could create dangerous driving conditions for morning commuters in the days ahead.
