Six swastikas found in Roanoke

Police investigate separate instances of vandalism

ROANOKE, Va. – An investigation into separate reports of swastikas painted or drawn on property in Roanoke is underway. There were six different swastikas found Friday.

Police don’t believe any of the property owners were targeted.

Police said there were two reported incidents. One happened Thursday when a woman called saying she found a swastika on her mailbox in the 4500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Northeast.

An officer there found similar vandalism at four other addresses.

The second call came a few hours later. A swastika was on a recycling bin in the 4400 block of the same street.
