Danville police seize weapons in marijuana investigation

Weapons including two assault rifles seized in marijuana case

Guns the Danville Police Department says it seized on Monday.

DANVILLE, Va. – Police say they arrested three people and seized multiple firearms and drugs after officers smelled marijuana coming from a Danville home Monday.

During a marijuana investigation in the 1000 block of Washington Street, Danville police and Virginia State Police entered a nearby home where they seized two assault-style rifles and two handguns. In addition, police say they seized about 6 ounces of marijuana and synthetic marijuana from the home.

Police charged Anthony Giggetts with distribution of marijuana, a second person with misdemeanor marijuana possession and a third person with public intoxication.

The case remains under investigation.
