Danville Boys and Girls Club, Danville Life Saving Crew team up to teach kids CPR

Kids learned what to do if they find someone unresponsive

DANVILLE, Va. – Some Southside kids now have a better chance of saving someone's life.

Kids in the Danville Boys and Girls Club got a crash course in CPR Friday from the Danville Life Saving Crew.

This is something the boys and girls club was originally trying to do at the end of the past school year to help kids have a safe summer, but there were some scheduling conflicts.

The club decided instead to have the class towards the end of summer so it will be fresh on the kids' minds when they go back to school.

"These kids will be going back in to the community with the knowledge of knowing how they may save someone's life. To have that in your public school system, as well as just in the community in general, this was a great opportunity," said Danville Boys and Girls Club special events director Tell Fritzler.

Anyone can sign up for CPR classes. For more information, contact the Danville Life Saving Crew.
