Roanoke Police looking for men who robbed NC man answering Craigslist ad

Robbery happened Friday morning

ROANOKE, Va. – A North Carolina man was robbed at gunpoint while responding to a Craigslist ad in Roanoke on Friday.

Roanoke City Police said it happened just before noon in the 200 block of Mattaponi Drive Northwest.

The victim met the seller of what the ad said was a Lexus RX 350. When he arrived, he noticed the vehicle was older and different than advertised, but took it for a test drive anyway.

When they returned, one of the suspects asked him to park the vehicle in a different location. That suspect then got out of the car because he said he was going to get the title. At that time, another suspect approached the victim with a gun and robbed him of cash and other belongings.

The victim was not injured. He went to a nearby residence to call 911.

Roanoke police said they have not made any arrests, but are searching for three black male suspects. If you have any information, call police.
