The Vinton Police Department is asking you to avoid parts of downtown this morning because of a large funeral procession. Â Delays are expected between 10 a.m. and noon, affecting Hardy Road, Vineyard Road, Pollard Street and Washington Avenue. Â Traffic will not be allowed eastbound onto Washington Avenue, westbound from Vineyard Road or eastbound past Vineyard Road onto Hardy Road.
We will get a look today at a new solar array farm at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Â The hospital is installing more than 4,100 panels, which will deliver about 17 percent of the medical center's annual energy. Â The project is expected to save $1.5 million over the next five years.
