Vinton Town Council is expected to vote tonight to postpone taking action on eliminating eight Valley Metro stops. Â The town is proposing to eliminate eight stops on Washington Avenue. Â The town says the move would save $15,000 to $20,000 a year. Â Council is also expected to pass a resolution supporting the federal Historic Tax Credit program, which is eliminated in the House of Representatives Tax Reform Bill. Â The program served as an incentive in the Roland E. Cook and William Byrd redevelopment projects.
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors will discuss the Summit View Business Park today. Â The county is talking to a prospective business for one of the sites in the southern part of the park. Â A road will need to be built and utilities installed to gain access to it. Â The board is expected to issue a request for proposal to support the construction.
