Science Museum lights up Valentine's Day with LED cards

Part of craftbar series encouraging STEM activity

ROANOKE, Va. – Is electricity in the air for your Valentine's Day?

The Science Museum of Western Virginia sure hopes so. In the latest of the museum's series, called Craft Bar, people made one a kind Valentine's Day cards all while sipping on some brews.

They learned about simple circuits and then used their knowledge and LEDs to make the cards light up, perfect for the one who lights up your life.

"Creating the spark between you and your partner, yes absolutely, the lights and the electricity is definitely in fitting with the season," Science Museum of Western Virginia spokeswoman Koren Smith said.

More craft bars are on tap for May and will be held every other month. Big Lick Brewing played host to the event and donated one dollar for every pint sold.
