Authorities have confirmed a shooting that took place in South Boston of Hailfax County.
According to Lt. Dennis Barker at least two people were shot leaving one person dead and another airlifted to a near by hospital.

The shooting took place on Old Hailfax Road near a Walmart and Dollar Tree.
Officers are still on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
