Local Colors set to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va.Local Colors is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month this Saturday.

The family-friendly event is taking place in downtown Roanoke at the Wells Fargo Plaza from 12 to 3 p.m.

You can enjoy live music, dance performances, cultural presentations and educational segments.

This is a chance to highlight the rich diversity of Latin American cultures here in Southwest Virginia.

Lisa Spencer, the Executive Director of Local Colors says, “It is going to be a really great time. There will be some educational pieces because the purpose of this is to really inform people about the significance of Hispanic Heritage Month and to gain an appreciation for Latin American cultures.”

A variety of Latin American food, artisan, and business vendors will also be at the celebration.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs until Oct. 15 and commemorates the significant contributions of people of Latino/Hispanic heritage and the culture that has enriched the U.S.
