Body found in Scott County identified as missing man

SCOTT COUNTY, Va. – The Virginia State Police have identified human remains found Sunday afternoon in Scott County.

The remains of 22-year-old Joshua McConnell were found near Wadlow Bridge.

McConnell, of Kingsport, Tennessee, had been reported missing to Tennessee authorities in April 2019.

At this stage of the investigation, police say the cause of McConnell's death does not appear to be criminal in nature.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
