Martinsville lands new fall race sponsor

First Data 500 set for Oct. 29

MARTINSVILLE, Va. –    There is a new name and a new financial commitment to Martinsville's racing future. First Data, a global leader in commerce enabling technology, has entered into a three year agreement to be the title sponsor for Martinsville's fall Monster Energy Series Nascar race.

"I think they appreciated what they saw when they were here and I certainly appreciate what they do in their world and we were just fortunate to combine the two and put this thing together, " says Martinsville Track President Clay Campbell.

"We may not be one of those storied NASCAR brands like M & M's or Budweiser but chances are when you buy a bag of candy or a can of beer that payment is transacted through the rail network of First Data," says First Data Global Communications Director Josh King.

The First Data 500 is the first race in the round of eight of the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series playoffs. This year's race is set for Oct. 29.
