At Cave Spring High School the Knights signed a pair of high level Division I athletes to the next level. Emma Muzzy puts her name on the dotted line with NC State swimming She is a 9-time VHSL state champ in five individual events and four relays. Emma competed in the 2016 Olympic trials in Omaha in two individual events.
Brooke Leftwich will join the dive team at Virginia Tech. She is coming off a runner-up finish at state in her first season of high school diving. She was the region 3A West athlete of the meet.
"Seeing both girls being able to attend a college where they're going to feel like they can advance athletically is going to be great for them, and I really can't wait to see their achievements. I can't wait to see how they're going to advance," Assistant swimming coach Kelsey Burton said.
