MARTINSVILLE, Va – New details are coming out about a deadly shooting in a Martinsville restaurant. During Monday’s hearing, Jenkins’ family members, employers and members of Virginia State Police took the stand. AdIt was revealed during testimony that one camera captured Jenkins shooting Shavon Reid after Martin was shot. Witnesses said Jenkins was supposed to go to work the night the shooting happened. Although several people spoke to Jenkins’ character, the judge ultimately denied bond because of the severity of the case.

Martinsville men’s group working to curb violence following violent shootout

MARTINSVILLE, VA. – Friday marks three weeks since the deadly shootout at a busy Martinsville Restaurant, and that evening local men gathered to talk about how to make a change. The shooting at El Norteno earlier this month rocked the Martinsville community. It left two dead, another two injured, and Martinsville City Councilman Chad Martin said a deep emotional toll. “Society tells us not to cry, society tells us, you know be strong all the time, and that just doesn’t work. So we’re really trying to create an avenue for men to be able to talk,” Martin said.

’Bad situation all around’: Local minister reacts to El Norteno Restaurant shooting in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – All that was left of El Norteno, the site of Friday night’s deadly Martinsville shooting, was a perimeter of yellow tape. 10 News spoke to a Martinsville resident that was a bystander in the aftermath of the incident that left two dead and another two in critical condition. [Two dead, two injured in Friday night Martinsville shooting after altercation inside restaurant]“As a witness and a testimony to what happened here tonight, bad things happen,” said David Harr. The local minister said he consoled the mother of one of the victims with prayer. “We’ve got to take care of ourselves spiritually and take a good, hard look at where we’re at,” he says.

Martinsville authorities ask for help identifying burglary suspect

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Martinsville authorities are asking for your help with finding a man suspected of burglary. According to police, officers responded to the El Norteno restaurant at 730 E. Church Street around 3 a.m. on Oct. 25 after an alarm went off. When officers arrived, they say the restaurant had been burglarized. Authorities described the suspect as a person wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt.
