A dependency court judge then ordered Noah to complete the prescribed chemotherapy treatment against his parents' wishes. The judge ruled that Bland and McAdams undergo psychological evaluations as a part of the process to potentially regain custody, Elvington said.

A 34-year-old Virginia mother has been arrested in the disappearance of her 2-year-old son, who she reported had vanished from their home after she put him to bed. Julia Tomlin reported her son, Noah, missing on Monday just before noon. The FBI released a missing child poster for Noah and launched what had been described as an intensive search for the boy. The Hampton Police Department announced Friday that Julia had been arrested in her son's disappearance and charged with three counts of felony child neglect. Noah is presumed dead, and authorities will continue to search for him, Hampton police chief Terry Sult said at a news conference Friday night. Julia Tomlin was arrested on suspicion of felony child neglect, Hampton police said. Initially, police said that no explanation of his disappearance was ruled out, including the chance he walked away. The search took place on land, sea and air, and was done by foot and with drones and sonar, Sult said.
