Vinton Town Council has given the go-ahead for a major redevelopment project.

Franklin County Schools will present its proposed budget to the Board of Supervisors today. The proposed budget is $102 million, an increase of more than $13 million. The County Administrator will also present the proposed budget for the county for the next fiscal year. The City of Roanoke holds a budget development webinar today. The Planning Commission is expected to hold a public hearing next month with City Council holding on in May.

Vinton Town Council will get briefings about possible restaurant expansion. Farmburguesa is looking to expand its down location, adding a semi-enclosed patio, to add outside seating. The Dogwood Restaurant is also interested in expanding, including the addition of a patio. With some kids out of school because of the election today, Virginia Children’s Theatre is holding an Election Day Camp. The theme of the camp is Superheroes, teaching students to use their skills to make the world a better place.

ROANOKE, Va. Today is the last day to give your input about reopening Roanoke County Schools. Roanoke City Schools is also asking for your thoughts about the reopening of schools. The Alleghany Health District will test people on a first-come, first-served basis today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Alleghany High School. We could find out tonight about reopening plans for Lynchburg City Schools. Danville Utilities receives a Peak Power Advisory from its wholesale power provider.

The town says Rosie's generates around $30,000 a month in tax revenue for the town and supports around 100 jobs. The Franklin County Board of Supervisors will get a briefing today from Virginia State Police on trooper staffing.
