Virginia State Police told 10 News that there were a total of seven weather-related crashes Tuesday morning in Alleghany, Bath and Highland, three of which happened on Interstate 64.

ROANOKE, Va. Five children in Virginia have now had Multisystem Inflamitory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C), according to the Virginia Department of Health. The latest case reported in the commonwealth was of a child who lives in the Central Shenandoah Health District. That health district contains Rockingham, Augusta, Rockbridge, Bath and Highland counties, as well as the cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Lexington and Buena Vista. The other four cases reported were located in the Prince William, Alexandria and Fairfax health district. Two cases were reported in the Fairfax health district.

RICHMOND, Va. - Seven people died across Virginia in crashes that happened during Fourth of July weekend, according to Virginia State Police. The six fatal crashes happened in Highland, Loudoun, Lunenburg, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Spotsylvania counties. Two people died in the Spotsylvania County crash. During the holiday statistical counting period, Virginia State Police responded to a total 548 traffic crashes statewide and assisted 1,791 disabled/stranded motorists. State police measured the holiday weekend as beginning at 12:01 a.m. July 3 and ending at 12 a.m. July 5.
