Up to an inch of snow is possible in Roanoke and the New River Valley. Isolated higher amounts will be possible in the higher elevations of those two locations. Most of the snow will fall east of the Blue Ridge where 1-3” of snow is possible. Across Southside and Central Virginia 3-6” of snow is possible as the snow takes its time to leave the area.
WINDS
Winds could gust more than 30-40 miles per hour from late Wednesday night through much of Thursday as the system responsible for bringing us the snow pulls away.Â
Wind chills will likely be below zero in the NRV to start Thursday and the single digits elsewhere.
