LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Republican National Committee has been planning a "grassroots" debate with conservative media for about a year, according to Sean Spicer, Chief Strategist & Communications Director.
Spicer tells WSLS 10 the RNC and its production team have visited Liberty University several times.

They are reportedly very impressed with the Liberty University facilities.
The RNC says they are in the "final stretch" to identify the host location for this GOP debate.
They hope to have location finalized in the next couple of weeks. Liberty is a strong front-runner to host this debate.
This debate would be held in early to mid-January 2016.
