Danville Area Humane Society offers reward in dog stabbing case
DANVILLE (WSLS)-- The Danville Area Humane Society is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who stabbed a dog on Friday night.
The Humane Society reports getting a call from Danville Police late Friday. Officers had responded to a dog with obvious injuries on its back. The dog was treated and is currently recovering at the shelter.
"The Streets are simply not safe for animals," says Paulette Dean, executive director of the Danville Area Humane Society. "The wound is massive, and we are amazed that this dog continues to be so friendly. When she came to the shelter Friday evening, she was ravenous and despite the pain she was in, she was eager to eat and drink."
Anyone with information is urged to call police. The dog will be available for adoption on Friday, February 12.
