Lynchburg police searching for suspects after armed robbery

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a Fast Mart 5 on Thursday, June 30.

At about 10:59 p.m., police responded to the store, located at 1400 Campbell Avenue.

Before police arrived, two black men, wearing masks, entered the store armed with handguns, according to police.

The men are described as being between 24 and 28 years old. Both are between 5-feet-10-inches tall and 6-feet tall. One has a slender build, while the other has an average build. In additionĀ to masks, both suspects were wearing dark clothing.

During the alleged robbery, one of the menĀ stepped to the right of the door upon entrance, pointed the handgun at the clerk, and blocked the clerk from leaving. The other suspect approached the front of the counter with a handgun held to his right side. At this time both suspects were yelling at the clerk to give them the money and the suspect in front of the counter also demanded two packs of cigarettes.

Both suspects then ran away with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and two packs of cigarettes.

No one was injured during this incident.
