Work on Church Street in Lynchburg will shut down one lane of traffic today. Crews will be getting ready for milling and paving operations, which will take place this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, Church Street will be closed.

The Virginia Tech Hyperloop Team will begin competing today in the Hyperloop Pod Competition in California. The 12 member team is competing against 28 other universities from around the world. The pod that hits the highest speed on the one mile test track will win. Virginia Tech has the only team made up of all undergraduate students.
